why do real estate websites ask for your personal information?
All the websites I have been to to search real estate including MLS for the USA require I provide my information and setup an account to view listings. Some websites go as far as charging to view listings. Why is this? If you want to sell the house don't you want to make it easy for people to see what your selling. You don't need anything from me until I choose to buy the home.
I am a Realtor. I have a website. I have the site so I can get clients. If people come to my site, but I don't have a way to get there contact information I wont have a way to contact them, and I will probably never hear from them. There are many things people can do on my site for free, but to there are places that require them to give some info, like their name, phone # ect to view.
That way I know who has visited my site, what they are looking for and how to contact them. Most of my buyers come from leads that come from people coming to my site.
I would not pay for any info from a website. You should be able to find one that will give you the same info for free, but you probably will have to give some contact info first.
