Why is it that the richest man in the world is never a Real Estate tycoon?
I am asking this question, because land is pretty much the only finite resource, while all the others we could theoretically replace or renew. So it makes sense for me that real estate developers should make the most money.
Take a look at the Forbes list and see how many people made their fortunes in real estate. You never heard of Sam Zell, Mort Zuckerman or Donald Trump?
Real estate will not, however, land you as THE richest person on earth (or in the US) because you cannot turn $1 of real estate into $10,000 the way you can with, say, software. It grows arithmetically, not geometrically.
