What is the appropriate level of brokerage commissions to pay on a property of several million dollars?

I sell a house and have the information in contradiction with what the real estate commission should be. It ranges from 4-6% depending on whom you ask.

The committees have become great controversy. With the enormous growth of the market, real estate agent has been fined for the seller too greedy. Property values have increased, so most sales have taken a huge return on your investment. In this spirit, this has become the largest investment for most people. Yet, they want a return on your investment. In short, if the agent is considering hiring can not negotiate their own rates, no how will they be able to negotiate the best price, or conditions for the sale of your home.
