how does public housing work?
i got in the mail a application from the housing opportunity commission and it said that my name was picked out of a lottery for public housing i filled it out and took it back to them and was wondering what was the process that will take place now will i get an apartment or townhouse (i have two kids) or will i have to wait for years to get into one
1 more thing, on the paper that i got it said that there were units available in my area and in area surrounding
They are not talking about houses or townhouses, they are talking about public housing complexes. Everyone there will be on public housing. They are more like apartments, and commonly called "Projects".
The process is simply that you prove income and need. You will given a 2 or 3 bedroom depending on the genders of your children. Everyone pays the same rent, about half of normal rent in the community.
