To military personnel in Japan – how is the base-housing in Japan, particularly Yokosuka?

I’m about to go overseas to Japan and was just wondering how the base-housing would be like over there. If you’ve been stationed in Yokosuka before, please elaborate about the base and its surrounding areas.

I actually visited Yokosuka last year and the housing looks really nice. Living off base you’ll have much smaller quarters than you can imagine. The base is quaint, compared to other bases I’ve lived in, but nice. I am headed there this March…
